Dear Parent( s )/Legal Guardian( s) of West Hawaii Schools:
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on transportation services has been a challenge for the student transportation industry nationwide. In Hawaii, our contracted providers are faced with a shortage of bus drivers to service our schools. This circumstance has resulted in our ability to offer limited bus ridership when school opens for the fall semester in August 2021.
If your child(ren) would normally ride the bus and you are able to provide your own private car transportation, please help us by providing transportation for your child during this time. The Student Transportation Services Branch (STSB) continues to work with our contractors to recruit, train, and activate more drivers. STSB will advise schools when more routes become available throughout the year.
If you need transportation services, please complete and submit your bus application. Services will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
